Sloan Kettering Lung Cancer Risk Assessment Tool: "This prediction tool can assess a long-term smoker's risk of developing lung cancer in the next 10 years based on the person's age, sex, smoking history, and asbestos exposure."
Age does not seem to be a factor in Lung Cancer Treatment: "Elderly patients are at the same level of risk as younger patients, when it comes to chemotherapy and radiotherapy for the treatment of lung cancer."
Sunshine and Lung Cancer Surgery: "Lung Cancer Patients who had surgery in very sunny months and had a high intake of vitamin D were more than twice as likely to surpass the five-year survival mark as people who had winter surgeries and a low intake of vitamin D."

Ernie J's Lung Cancer Story:

Q- When were you diagnosed with lung cancer?
A-I was diagnosed with cancer in May, 2001.

Q-What type of lung cancer was diagnosed? Was a cause to your cancer defined?
A-I had non-small cell lung cancer, squamus cell carcinoma. Interestingly, my oncologist did not necessarily blame cigarettes as the cause. I think that was because I had stated that I had no one to blame but myself, - I had smoked at least two packs of non-filters a day for about 50 years. I think he was trying to avoid the psychology of my blaming myself for the cancer.

Q-What phase was the cancer in at the time of diagnosis?
A-The cancer was stage IIIa at diagnosis. I did not find out until a year later that they considered me inoperable/incurable.

Q-What options did the doctor lay before you?
A-The doctor gave me no options. She told me that "we will be very aggressive" with treatment.

Q-What treatment methods did you undergo?

Mesothelioma, or asbestos cancer, is a cancer that affects the pleura or the sac lining the chest, which is the pleural type of mesothelioma. It can also attack the abdomen, which is the peritoneal type of mesothelioma and can also affect the liver, spleen and bowel.
Treatment of mesothelioma depends on the size of the affected area, the stage of the cancer, the age of the patient, and the response to treatment (mesoinfo.com). There is not a guaranteed method for curing mesothelioma, only treatments to hopefully remove the cancerous cells and relieve pain.
There are mesothelioma attorneys available in every state, and ever since the onset of mesothelioma lawsuits and other asbestos related cancers, there are more than enough mesothelioma lawyers to go around. (LOL)

We have compiled a list of mesothelioma lawyers for each state...
